Purpose 

 

Contributes to the overall success of the Global Finance Technology in Bogota, Colombia ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives.  Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

The Level 6 DevOps Engineer is responsible for implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines to support development, testing, and production environments. This role requires strong technical foundations and a proactive approach to automation and process improvement.

 

Accountabilities 

 

•    Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.

•    Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and related tools. 

•    Automate deployment processes across environments, and integrated automated testing while ensuring compliance with audit standards.

•    Collaborate with application teams to align deployment strategies. 

•    Support version control and repository management and assist in infrastructure provisioning and monitoring.

•    Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

•    Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Dimensions

 

•    Proven work experience in DevOps. 
•    Good knowledge of DevOps tools and processes. 
•    Hands-on experience with tools such as: Azure DevOps; GCP; GitHub; BitBucket; JFrog; Sonarcube; Copilot; GitHub Copilot; Gemini
•    Experience with development, automation, performance and/or security testing process is a plus.
•    Good communication skills in both English B2 and Spanish and a demonstrated ability to resolve escalated issues effectively.
•    Ability to deal with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple competing priorities


Education / Experience / Other Information

 

•    A degree in computer science, IT Business/Management or engineering related discipline is desirable.
•    1 to 2 years of demonstrable, practical hands-on experience as a DevOps Engineer.


Working Conditions 

 

•    Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence.
•    Detailed analytical work with constant pressure of   operating schedules, multiple non-prod and prod environments and implementation deadlines are the norm
•    Project implementation dates are critical; it is necessary to keep management informed of project/release progress on an ongoing basis
•    Hours of work may vary with project schedules and problems incurred during development and testing; flexibility is required to meet workload changes and deadlines - overtime is required
