Purpose
Contributes to the overall success of the IB Retail and Small Business Collections ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
Accountability
• Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
• Accountable for leading data management, development and analysis activities including:
• Design, modeling of data, develop, test, implement, optimize and maintain data elements and data models
• Liaise with Reporting lead within the team to design, build and test dashboards
• Design, build and test data for reporting, applications and portal interfaces including SSIS packages for ETL processes, SQL Agent jobs, SQL code/stored procedures, triggers
• Support Big Data environments and the transition from on-premises to cloud, databases to databricks
• Work/hands-on experience in building complex SQL Queries using MS SQL
• Improve performance, scalability and stability of databases and application processes
• Design, develop and maintain database objects (tables, views, stored procedures, triggers) in SQL environments
• Identify issues and improvements to existing SQL processes for optimal efficiency
• Create and suggest indexes, data structures, in-memory tables, and other performance tuning concepts to incorporate best industry practices into the product suite
• Determine the logical design characteristics and information management strategies to store, move, and manage data
• Design and maintain data warehouse best practices documentation, data model documentation and database sizing recommendations
• Design, implement and distribute monthly, quarterly and yearly dashboard reporting to various business stakeholders
• Relationship management with internal and external stakeholders to ensure all data processes meet business needs
• Collaborate with teams to integrate systems and to bring data sources
• Discover efficient ways to organize, store and analyze data with attention to security and confidentiality
• Manage data engineer’s development team that supports Global data models, databases, ETLs and automated processed
• Design and ensure data quality processes are in place for each of the data models by country
• Collaborate with different local and global teams to identify, develop, improve and customize data models and data for reports for each country and for the division
• Prioritize and resolve production issues raised for different databases, data in reports, ETLs and production jobs.

• Collections data analysis, integration and data management for 11+ Caribbean countries, Mexico, Peru, Chile,
• 5+ systems / applications / data inputs (SCS, Dialer, FICO, Core systems, local countries other business areas, among others);
• IST/UAT/PROD environments, 20+ databases and 25+ data schemas in scope
• Collection and Recoveries Policies
• Total Outstanding for countries in scope approx. CAD$51B, Reportable Delinquency approx. CAD$3B, Cash Collected for Mexico, Peru & Chile approx. CAD$348MM
Education / Experience / Other Information
• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field is preferred
• Proficient in SQL, SSIS, PL/SQL, T-SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, cursors, user defined functions, triggers, index, view). 4+ years’ experience
• Experience on Big Data Technologies like Databricks/Sparck, Databricks workspace, Databricks notebooks, Data Lakes
• Strong performance analysis and optimization tools and the ability to troubleshoot queries, suggest optimization or design modifications, and help to incorporate best practices of database design
• Experience and strong knowledge in writing complex SQL statements, VBA scripts.
• Knowledge in creating batch files, scheduling jobs
• Knowledge in Online Transactional Processing (OLTP) databases and Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) databases
• Experience and knowledge in dimensional data model design
• Experience with designs and implementation of ETL (Extract, transform, load) components to load data from disparate source systems using SQL Server and Microsoft BI tools
• Knowledge in Power BI
• Strong problem solving, learning agility, and logical thinking skills
• Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Writing skills in documenting user requirements and liaise well with counter-parts or divisions to address the matter at hand.
• Business acumen and organizational awareness
• Experience in MS Azure is a plus
• Knowledge of Big data, Hadoop, Hive, SAS is a plus
