Purpose

The Business Solution Specialist is a strategic role responsible for driving business transformation and technology adoption across the Organization within Canada and Internationally. This leader will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, design, and implement innovative solutions that support operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and regional growth objectives

Accountabilities 


•    Solution Development: Analyze business needs, propose tailored solutions, and oversee project delivery for new and existing products and services.
•    Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with our partner in GRM and Global Treasury and other functional areas within the Bank, ensuring alignment of business objectives and technology strategies.
•    Process Optimization: Lead process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce operational risks.
•    Regulatory Compliance: Ensure solutions comply with Canadian and International Banking regulations for each market where the Bank of Nova Scotia operates.
•    Change Management: Drive adoption of new systems and processes, providing training and support to end-users across regions.
•    Report Management: Provide regular updates to Leadership Team on the status of GRM and Global Treasury pipeline of initiatives

Education / Experience 

•    Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Information Technology, Finance, or related field.
•    Experience: 3 - 5 years of experience managing business solution projects, preferably in financial and technology services and multicultural environments.
•    Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Languages: Fluent in English and Spanish B2 
•    Skills: Project management, stakeholder communication, analytical thinking, problem-solving, and familiarity with Risk Management.
•    Data analysis, Power BI management.  
•    Experience working with development teams and systems integrators to deliver successful solutions. 
•    Familiarity with cloud-based platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP)
•    Possess a strong understanding of data management principles, product ownership best practices, and the Canadian financial services landscape. 
•    Cross-cultural awareness and adaptability.
•    Experience with digital transformation initiatives.  
•    Nice to have: SharePoint online management

Working Conditions

Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence
