Purpose


Contributes to the overall success of the International Banking Systems – IB Client technology Domain ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed /tested and delivered in support of IB Cliente technology Domain initiatives, strategies and objectives.  Ensures all activities in systems quality testing is   conducted in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures and business requirements.

 

Accountabilities 

 

•    Lead the QA automation team for IB Client Technology Applications.
•    Support the Use cases building and its testing strategy.  
•    Ensure the QA automation tools are the appropriate and in concordance with BNS standards and latest approved tool set.     
•    Develop an in-depth knowledge of the Bank's IB Client Solutions, software applications, architecture and development tools and techniques to ensure the level of quality BNS systems as well as an awareness of current procedures of all areas affecting the development and operation of systems.
•    Ensure that Development team , supervisors, Project Leaders  are  kept informed of all unresolved issues in testing, other areas of concern and any other deviations from plans through timely and well documented reporting
•    Assist in the provision of business support to IB Client  units and assisting with the certification  and implementation of systems enhancements.  This is made more challenging due to differences in time zones and the variation in the business lines. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that management is kept informed and that problems and issues are escalated appropriately. 
•    Continually acquire and enhance knowledge of the IB Client business strategies and policies, risk management practices and methodologies, product offerings, financial markets, financial instruments, regulatory requirements, Back Office processes, and rapidly changing technology to effectively assist in the provision of business solutions and services to the end user business lines.
•    We are looking for someone who will independently resolve complex, multi-faceted problems to meet the business needs of the assigned Lines of Business, by applying their Technology and Business  knowledge to ensure the testing design and methodologies, models, and/or systems solutions area being delivered in accordance to requirements. 
•    Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
•    Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Education / Experience / Other Information (include only those that are specific to the role)

•    3- 5 years of experience of Business Systems Analysis.
•    Previous experience building relationship with cross functional team members located in different parts of the world
•    Knowledge of testing Automation tools theorical and practical use.
•    Demonstrated experience to be a creative, self-starting, results-oriented, independent and highly motivated individual with very good analytical skills 
•    Demonstrated leadership skills with very good interpersonal, communication, negotiation skills and good time management & organizational skills.
•    Ability to deal with ambiguity and taking smart & calculated risks
•    A recognized degree in systems, computing, or a related discipline and 3+ years of relevant work experience
•    English level advanced.

 

                                     
Working Conditions


Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence; the position requires concentrated use of sight and touch at a computer terminal on average 8 hrs/day. The incumbent must be able to react quickly to assist in resolving technical problems and work overtime on many occasions to meet deadlines and to implement systems
