Purpose

Contributes to the overall success of the GOCT business lines and IT&S; ensuring specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives.  Ensures all activities conducted are in-compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

 

Accountabilities

  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • A business values focused mindset to ensure that the Technology team is delivering the right product for Stakeholders, ensuring user stories are clearly defined and the team understands the scope and expectation of work.
  • Assist Scrum Master in managing agile delivery/adoption (JIRA, Confluence, Kanban, ServiceNow). Ensuring that the backlogs are visible, transparent, clear to all, and prioritize to drive meaningful outcomes, and conduct/mange requirements for Demo sessions with our stakeholder’s teams.
  • Assist stakeholders and support team to establish necessary service procedures, policies, and standards in compliance with internal policies and documentation guidelines.
  • Assist and support software development and the Support team in achieving their objectives by applying innovative and problem-solving thinking to increase design effectiveness, procedures, and cost-effective solutions while meeting business and regulatory requirements.
  • Identifying root causes of high frequency problems and supporting actionable plans to improve development team’s performance through material changes to our products and services.
  • Manage business and software development metrics framework for software products. look over large amounts of data to put together reports and presentations for leadership teams.
  • Use various software programs to help the bank and designated teams to formulate proper workflows and templates.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be incorporate into in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

  • Business units supported: RBBO, Adjudications, GBS, OCS, Global Compliance, Global Complaints and IB Operations.
  • 1-2 Direct Reports
  • Global (Canada & IB).

 

Education / Experience / Other Information

  • Must to have:
    • University or College degree in Business, Engineering or Computer Science
    • Knowledge about software life cycle.
    • General knowledge of project management.
    • Strong analytic skills, attention to details and problem solving.
    • An agile mindset and the flexibility to adapt to new and evolving environments.
    • Excellent written, verbal, virtual, and live communications skills (Spanish is consider an asset) B2
    • 2+ years of experience as Business Analyst
    • 1+ year in a similar position.
    • Experience with Atlassian Confluence and Jira
    • Methodologies are highly desirable, along with knowledge of IT Business Management.

 

Working Conditions

  • Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence.
