Purpose

Contributes to the overall success of GBS GBMO Static Data globally by ensuring the accurate setup, maintenance, and control of financial and non-financial static data across GBM business lines, including Fixed Income, Equities, Stock Loan, Repo, and FX. The role supports global trading jurisdictions and out-of-hours coverage as required, ensuring activities are executed in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, procedures, and established controls. 

Accountabilities 

•    Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.

•    Perform accurate setup and maintenance of clients, accounts, books, securities, and settlement data across applicable GBM businesses and source systems, ensuring all updates are complete, validated, and supported by appropriate documentation and controls.

•    Capture and verify information from authorized source documentation, review manual entries and system updates in accordance with established procedures and service standards, and respond to stakeholder queries related to static data setup, maintenance, and exceptions.

•    Investigate routine and moderately complex discrepancies, follow up on exceptions, escalate higher-risk or non-standard matters appropriately, and identify recurring errors or process gaps to support practical improvements, testing activities, and operational resilience.

•    Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

•    Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Dimensions

•    Supports GBM business lines including Fixed Income, Equities, Stock Loan, Repo, and FX.
•    Provides coverage across global trading jurisdictions, including out-of-hours support where required.
•    Maintains financial and non-financial static data across multiple source systems and sub-systems.
•    Operates within documented procedures, service standards, escalation protocols, and control requirements.
•    Participates in BCP/BRP testing, user acceptance testing, system enhancements, and operational support activities. 

Education / Experience / Other Information (include only those that are specific to the role)

•    Experience in static data, onboarding, operations, or a related financial services environment.
•    Working knowledge of relevant regulatory, documentation, and control requirements applicable to GBM businesses.
•    Strong attention to detail and the ability to complete work accurately within established deadlines and service levels.
•    Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with business, operations, and technology partners.
•    Sound judgment, analytical skills, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
•    Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
•    Ability to work effectively in a team environment and contribute positively to team objectives.
•    Working knowledge of financial products and related operational processes is an asset.
•    Knowledge of relevant source systems is an asset.
•    English level advanced.

                                        
Working Conditions

•    Work in a standard office-based environment; night shifts, occasional overtime, and non-business or out-of-hours coverage may be required to support business needs across global trading jurisdictions. Limited travel, if any.
