Purpose 

Leads the Global Capital Markets / Caribbean teams and ensure that business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed in accordance with current internal and external regulations, policies, and procedures.

Defines, approves, and executes strategies related to Financial Markets activities such as Trading and Sales.

Financial Products range from Foreign Exchange and Fixed Income, and others to be developed such as Rates, Structured products, cash market and derivatives. Focuses on facilitating client activity through prudent risk taking.

Responsibilities

Leads the trading and sales teams for GCM Caribbean and is accountable for its revenues and results.

Responsible for trading and sales of Foreign Exchange and Fixed Income products Services all client segments (Corporate, Commercial, Wealth, and Retail) and also local and foreign Financial Institutions.

Reviews the GCM product offering and proposes new products / solutions, such as Rates, Structured products, cash market and derivatives.

Develops the GCM Caribbean franchise in the local and international market. 

Oversees trading and risk-taking activities. 

Liaises with Local, regional and global support areas including Credit, Risk, Operations, Internal Control, Compliance, Finance and Legal.

Facilitates client-facing activities for relationship management / building and product development. 

Supports day-to-day activities in a manner consistent with the Bank’s risk culture and the relevant risk appetite statement and limits. 

Communicates the Bank’s risk culture and risk appetite statement throughout their teams.

Creates an environment in which their team pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct. 

Builds a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment, communicating vision/values/business strategy and managing succession and development planning for the team. 

Skills

At least 15 years of Capital Markets experience – including large teams management, business development, trading, business management

B.S. Engineering or Finance with Capital Markets background  

Ability to work at a fast pace, managing pressure and with the ability to pivot as needed

Highly skilled in negotiation and problem solving

Passionate about customer advocacy, driven towards high-level customer service and brings a track record in customer success within the financial industry

Demonstrated ability in leading professional staff across a distributed network

Effective communication and strategic influencing skills to effectively persuade and influence stakeholders and senior management

Bilingual Spanish and English is a must

This opportunity is location-flexible and does not require relocation to the Dominican Republic.
