Job Purpose:

-The Manager, Credit manages a team of Credit Analysts in delivering effective and timely adjudication of customer loan applications while ensuring a high level of service to dealers.

-This role ensures the analysis of customers with sub-prime credit history, understanding and interpreting loan applications submitted by dealers, and utilizing consumer credit bureaus and/or financial statements to make individual consumer loan recommendations that meet the Bank’s policies and guidelines is conducted effectively and efficiently by Credit Analysts.

-This incumbent monitors a significant daily volume of loan applications from dealers with a strong focus on minimizing losses from credit fraud. The Manager, Credit’s responsibilities also focus on effectively referring escalation and exception situations presented by Credit Analysts for credit adjudication to GRM ACE. The incumbent is expected to use a great deal of creativity and ingenuity in managing loan application volume and dealer relationships while protecting the Bank’s interests.   

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Plans, organizes and directs the activities required to contribute to loan growth and profitability while minimizing underwriting risk to the Bank.
  • Manages the day-to-day workflow to ensure sound and timely due diligence in loan underwriting while conforming to Bank policies and procedures.
  • Supports the business objectives of the department ensuring operational effectiveness.
  • Provides orientation, coaching and mentoring of team members
  • Ensures the delivery of customer service fosters overall customer and business line/department satisfaction

  • Strong organizational and time management skills; the ability to prioritize, allocate and monitor workload; using sound judgment to address problems and discrepancies.  
  • Proven interpersonal and communications skills to successfully conduct operational activities, and influence others to become operationally effective.
  • A high degree of flexibility is required to adapt to a variety of tasks and functions. 
  • Strong PC skills are necessary as the incumbent uses a PC for a variety of operational, service management and related activities.
  • Thorough knowledge of daily and periodic department routines, procedures, policies and workflows, including, AML/ATF/KYC, and Privacy regulations.
  • Thorough knowledge of SDA’s products, services, and operating systems.
  • The incumbent works independently within approved authorities and Bank policies.

 

Education/Work experience:   

- Completion of a post-secondary education (college or university) preferred

 

Additional details:

-Please note the schedule is currently 1:00 to 9:00  Monday to Friday. The successful candidate must also be flexible and be  available to work occasionally on Saturdays based on volume and business requirements.
-The role is based in Anjou, QC

-The incumbent must be bilingual (French & English)
