Senior Manager, Evolving Payments, Tangerine Payments - Toronto, ON

Purpose
In this role you'll contribute to the overall success of Payments for Tangerine in Canada, by defining and developing transformational opportunities in retail and business payments while ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. This role will work closely with business lines to define and validate strategies covering Tangerine’s market ensuring that all activities conducted follow governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. 

Is this role right for you? You will be responsible for:
•    Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge
•    Support the ongoing assessment and development of opportunities for Tangerine, performing external client exploration of related business challenges across priority markets, and executing the analysis and communication of conceptual opportunities
•    Contribute to the definition and development of the Tangerine’s Payments strategy and roadmap through research of global payments trends and disruptions, and the analysis of their applicability to markets within the bank’s footprint
•    Work directly with business line partners to discover and define payments opportunities in alignment with the Bank’s strategic priorities
•    Develop approaches to quantify and articulate the value of opportunities discovered
•    Design and lead problem solving sessions, workshops, and interviews with cross-functional / business line working team members and subject matter experts
•    Synthesize findings and present clear recommendations and implementation plans to ensure impactful project outcomes to senior leaders within the Bank
•    Support annual business planning activities
•    Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions
•    Actively pursue efficient operations of your respective areas in accordance with Tangerine’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Sales Principles, while ensuring the adherence to day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk
•    Champion a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have
•    5+ years of experience in Corporate Strategy, Consulting, or strategy experience within a Financial Services company
•    Strong understanding of the domestic and global payments landscape, and market usage across segments
•    Ability to clearly articulate and communicate complex business concepts associated with the payments domain
•    Experience in applying design thinking principles to define and solve business problems
•    Comfort working in an agile, matrixed environment
•    Hands on experience with payments modernization programs either domestically or globally (e.g., US, UK, Australia, Europe)
•    General knowledge of global payment and transaction banking trends and technologies
•    Strong technical ability with PowerPoint, Excel and Word
