What you will be doing:

 

As the Senior Manager, Business Analysis (BA), you will lead a team within Tangerine that supports best-in -class Digital Product and Experience (DPX) for our clients.  Working with an advanced level of expertise, the Senior Manager, Business Analysis will build, develop and lead their team to work collaboratively with business and IT leaders  to drive excellence in requirements gathering, documentation, information management, and business analysis. The Senior Manager, Business Analysis will have accountability for establishing and implementing the BA Chapter roadmap, as well as the strategic and operational plans in alignment with the overall objectives of the organization. 

 

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

 

  • Manages a team of Business Analysts, including coaching and educating the team on best practices

    • Champion a high-performance environment and implement a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops, and motivates your team by fostering an inclusive work environment, communicating vison, values, business strategy and managing succession and development planning for your team.

    • Responsible for allocation, utilization, recruitment, and development of the Business Analysts to help achieve both personal and organizational objectives.

    • Leading and developing the team to provide a high level of professional service to clients (both internal and external), by understanding their business needs across highly complex and multi-disciplinary initiatives. This includes keeping abreast of emerging industry and technology trends, active involvement in the initiation and presentation of business analysis capability improvement ideas.

    • Ensuring the Business Analysis team provide deliverables that are clearly, accurately, and thoroughly documented and understood for both system and process changes. 

    • Coach and mentor the team through the initiative process, in developing and maintaining user stories, BRDs, requirements traceability matrices, and other project deliverables. 

 

  • Drives the continuous improvement and strategy of Tangerine’s business analysis chapter spanning people, processes, methods, tools, and technologies

    • Champion a client focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.

    • Ensure solutions align with not only the strategic direction of the organization, but also improves operational efficiency, reduces operating risk, and delivers quality service by developing an in-depth understanding of both the strategic direction of the organization as well as the current IT and business systems and architectures.

    • Promotes creative thinking to evolving and changing business needs, thereby driving optimization opportunities to simplify and advance current solutions and reduce solutions complexities with the result of improving the enterprise velocity. 

    • Developing a sound knowledge of Tangerine’s systems, external vendor processes and tools and of current processes and procedures.

    • Working with other Tangerine IT team members and external stakeholders to improve the quality of practices consistent with overall Tangerine strategic and operational objectives. 

    • Act as a partner to the initiative intake process by refining and providing internal consulting to the business around, but not limited to; new business case assessment, initiatives for impact and feasibility analysis.

    • Responsible for understanding and complying with the Regulatory Compliance Framework including the Anti-Money Laundering/Anti-Terrorist Financing and Sanctions Policy and all AML related policies, procedures, and controls within the department.

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?  We'd love to work with you if you have:

 

  • Education/Experience

    • 5-10 years of business or operational analysis experience with at least 5 years in a management level position  

    • Completion of post-secondary business/ technology/systems or related area degree is required, or equivalent work experience. 

    • Previous experience operating in an Agile environment & possesses an Agile mind-set.

    • Experience in the financial services industry is preferred.

    • Experience in a Digital organization is an asset. 

    • Demonstrated business analysis leadership and experience in large, cross-functional enterprise initiatives within a fast-paced environment is required. 

    • Active participation and in-depth knowledge of the International Institute for Business Analysis (IIBA) BABOK (BA Body of Knowledge) is considered an asset. 

    • Direct project management experience and/or education is considered an asset. 

    • Technical background is considered an asset. 

 

  • Technical Skills 

    • Good understanding of banking business applications

    • Keen interest in new and emerging technologies

 

  • Abilities 

    • Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills and proven ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.

    • Is energetic, personable, and thrives in a dynamic environment.

    • Proven ability to influence at the Senior Management level & above.

    • Ability to act as a bridge between various stakeholders to deliver business results.

    • Ability to develop effective executive-level communications and presentation material.

    • Self-managed professional with the ability to achieve broadly communicated objectives under a minimal amount of supervision.

    • Has excellent team building and relationship management skills.
