What you will be doing:

Contributes to the overall success of the organization ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Contributes to the development of end-to-end business architecture with target state business capabilities, operating models, and business strategy across Tangerine. Ensures all conducted activities are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Business Architecture Artefacts & Processes
    • Work on multiple projects to support the development and implementation of business architecture artifacts.
    • Contribute to the creation of Tangerine's business architecture strategy and guiding principles.
    • Maintain and enhance the business architecture capabilities maturity model for the organization.
    • Identify and document business capabilities, interactive needs, and strategic priorities to inform business architect deliveries.
    • Participate in transformation programs and initiatives to assess their impact on business capabilities.
    • Collaborate with subject matter experts to:
      • Identify use cases critical to the strategic objectives or areas with known issues.
      • Identify value streams and how value is being delivered from end to end.
      • Capture Business Processes and Applications that supports each part of the value stream.
      • Align value streams with the capabilities to ensure they support value delivery.
      • Map processes and business capabilities in accordance with enterprise standards.
      • Evaluate the maturity of each capability and identify gaps.
    • Analyze industry and market trends to identify new and potential business capabilities.
    • Participate in Agile squads and sprints to support enhancements to existing capabilities and the introduction of new functions.

  • Governance & Standards Alignment
    • Participate in Architecture Governance Forums to prepare and present materials for necessary approvals.

  • Business Artefacts Consolidation
    • Update mapping of business & technology capabilities to the target state processes, technology capabilities & applications, customer/employee experiences (technology components to be completed by Technology Architect)
    • Create appropriate process documentation and storing in central business architecture repository.
    • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
    • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst or similar role in a transformation or architectural context.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with business architecture frameworks and methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications (such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies is preferred.
  • Ability to work on multiple initiatives and prioritize effectively.
  • Business Architecture Certification is an asset
