Purpose

 

This role is a leadership position which imagines, creates and operationalizes Tangerine’s mission to reinvent banking  and wealth experiences digitally, while advancing Tangerine’s strategic digital objectives including: building world-class digital experiences, delivering financial service innovation and supporting modernization efforts.

 

The candidate will lead our digital product and experiences, client journeys across channels, and enabling capabilities across our digital wealth (spend, save, borrow, invest) portfolios. They will set the vision and lead the strategic build of the Digital Wealth experience, balancing the needs of the business and our clients. They will lead multiple cross-functional agile squads to ensure delivery against the Bank’s key business objectives including revenue growth, client growth, and operational excellence. The Head of Digital Experience will ensure Digital Wealth products and experience are aligned with core Tangerine banking business and the “Shore Up the Foundation” strategy.

Team Leadership

  • Builds and serves a highly effective and cohesive digital product team and their respective cross-functional agile squads to ensure execution of business objectives and strategic KPIs.
  • Building an advisory cadence with the leadership team and providing a consistent view on portfolio performance and squad progress to ensure visibility and address any key risks and issues.
  • Serve as the primary source of key communications- product updates, clear definitions of the targeted capability and experience, the intended value to the Client, and delivery progress and outcomes.

 

Portfolio Leadership

  • Lead overall strategy, roadmap and execution for respective agile team’s portfolio and digital products.
  • Define and monitor strategic OKRs to measure business outcomes and team success.
  • Collaborates, and closely partners with our engineering and analytics organizations to drive a data-driven product-development approach through product discovery, research, product experimentation and validation.
  • Responsible for communicating the “big picture” across squads to ensure prioritization aligned to business priorities and strategy.
  • Understand competitive best practices, external trends and integrate them in product strategy and inform best in class journeys

 

Client/Digital Leadership

  • Drive a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge. Deeply understand client needs and presents product experience and features to business stakeholders and end users for feedback.
  • Communicates, collaborates and partners with Tangerine stakeholder groups such as Client Solutions, Marketing, Operations to co-create product experiences and journeys, making it easier for clients to discover, buy, use, manage and support Tangerine products across digital channels
  • Be an agent of change by advocating for and sharing agile principles and practices across the organization.
  • Empowers the agile squads to work effectively and get things done; helps the squads navigate internal stakeholders and situations.  Facilitate creative problem solving and addressing roadblocks through executive alignment.

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?  We’d love to work with you if you have: 

 

    • University or College Degree in Business, Marketing or Technology
    • 10+ years related experience in digital Product Management, Digital Design (UI/UX), Marketing or Technology preferred.
    • Excellent project delivery skills, with proven accomplishments leading cross-functional projects and teams.
    • Facilitation and fact-based problem solving to resolve complex issues and drive actionable outcomes.
    • Previous work experience with significant accountabilities relating but not limited to:
      • Digital Product management
      • Design (UI/UX), Design Thinking, UI/UX Research
      • Leading IT and business teams
      • Influencing senior executive decisions
    • Experience in a technology company or top-tier technology consulting firm an asset.
    • Experience with Agile tools such as Jira, Confluence, etc.
    • Master's / MBA considered an asset.
  • Professional Certification
    • Certified Scrum Product Owner designation is an asset.
  • Abilities
    • Strong data driven approach, utilizing key metrics and evidence in decision making.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to communicate on a broad spectrum (from deep technical discussions to high level executive vision).
