The Senior Manager, Product Economics, Credit Cards reports directly to the Director of Product Economics. The Senior Manager is responsible for providing strategic thought leadership to the Credit Card Business by translating performance insights into recommendations to enhance performance; more specifically, the role is accountable for leading of forecasting, product planning activities, scenario analyses and financial assessments of Credit Card products. The incumbent will lead a team of professionals to develop, implement and monitor key performance metrics related to the credit card business line, while supporting the strategic direction of the Tangerine brand.

 

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Develop a high performing Credit Card analytics team and infrastructure
  • Lead creation and stewardship of daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual forecasts/strategic plans for credit card products
  • Act as lead conduit to Finance for all budget planning activities, including forecasting, cost allocation and analytics
  • Lead the development and design effective models to inform strategic design making
  • Provide strategic support and counsel to Executive Management
  • Strategic guidance on impact of Client and macro-economic insights on volume and P&L results
  • Prepare analysis on ad hoc requests to support product management initiatives.
  • Produce reports for forecasting and product profitability analysis.
  • Develop and maintain expert knowledge of the key drivers of account, activity and balance growth, exploring volume and pricing relationships for Tangerine’s Credit Card products.
  • Lead P&L monitoring and Insights including: revenue, cost to acquire, write offs and maintain, cost control.
  • Assess pricing and marketing campaign offers for potential volume lift and P&L impact.
  • Monitor and maintain reporting including portfolio and campaign level tracking that offers financial insights on product performance and profitability.
  • Deep dive analysis on topics related to Credit Card product P&L.
  • Build and maintain regular detailed reports to augment existing dashboards, highlighting important trends.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum qualifications:                                                                                                                                                    

  • Education/Experience
    • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in payment analytics
    • MBA is an asset
  • Professional Certification
    • CFA is an asset
  • Specialized Knowledge
    • Financial acumen and understanding of P&L
  • Technical Skills
    • Exceptional Excel, SQL and SAS skills
    • Demonstrated execution of financial modelling
  • Abilities
    • Ability to multi-task and effectively adapt to change
    • Ability to effectively influence key stakeholders without formal authority
