The Team 
The Strategic Portfolio Office within Global Technology Services (GTS) at Scotiabank is looking for a Strategy Manager that will play a critical function in developing and communicating our global infrastructure investment and service delivery strategy. You will work with stakeholders across GTS to understand challenges and opportunities in our infrastructure technology, while providing expert counsel, thought-leadership, and industry best practices, and develop a compelling story on how GTS is meeting the needs of the business, and innovating to provide service delivery excellence. 

The Role 
The GTS Strategic Portfolio Office Strategy Manager must have an understanding of infrastructure technology and service delivery, and be adept at translating technology investments to business benefits and outcomes.  The right candidate understands how to construct, manage, and articulate business priorities in order to develop a compelling story that communicates the value GTS returns to the business, and provides ongoing insight into our priorities and plans.  

Is this role right for you? 

  • Construct, organize, manage, and communicate a thoughtful story of GTS priorities and business outcomes through presentations and reporting 
  • Act as the main point of contact for the Strategic Portfolio Office for strategy communications, reporting, and consultations 
  • Provide meaningful communications to various stakeholder expressing priorities, plans and progress 
  • Ensure that strategic initiatives for each domain within GTS are mapped within overall strategy and goals 
  • Provide subject matter guidance to optimize and drive business performance, to provide superior stakeholder experience, and to execute transformational initiatives with excellence 
  • Strategic thinker who proposes & challenges initiatives & ensures alignment with business needs & future outlook on strategy 
  • Ensures progress of strategic initiatives, financial performance, and value delivered to ensure timelines are met within budget 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? 

  • 5+ years of experience developing, organizing and communicating technology strategy; including product/service value propositions and story-telling 
  • Talented communicator who has the ability to create meaningful communications, presentations and reporting, designed for specific audiences that articulate the value of GTS 
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate the development of a vision for the overall success of a specific business area, technology service, and GTS as a whole 
  • Experienced approach to conduct discovery, application of critical and strategic thinking skills 
  • Experience in enterprise roles navigating a complex matrix environment 
  • Understanding of Tech Infrastructure as well business functions 


Do you have some of the preferred experience we’re looking for? 

  • Experience in Financial Services 
  • Bilingual in Spanish
