MD Management Limited, a division of Scotia Wealth Management, has an exciting opportunity for a talented, enthusiastic, and client-focused Associate Portfolio Manager to join our team.
As an Associate Portfolio Manager, you will provide client relationship management for discretionary portfolio management services to MD clients.
Is this role right for you? In this role you will:
- Foster, maintain and strengthen client relationships through regular, comprehensive contact
- Ensure all portfolios are compliant with the clients’ Investment Policy Statements
- Network internally to foster relationships and ensure the value proposition relating to Private Investment Counsel services is promoted and well understood
- Keep current on all financial matters that would affect client investment activities
- Team with other specialists including Insurance Consultants, Estate & Trust Advisors, Practice Solutions advisors, and Financial Consultants to provide a complete financial, practice and life program for clients
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions
- Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

- Be responsible for business development, networking, pipeline building, business planning and closing business
- Travel as required
The Must Haves:
- Level 1 CFA or hold the Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) designation (including 24 months of relevant investment management experience subject to regulatory approval)
- A minimum of 3 years of qualifying experience, specific to becoming registered as an Associate Advising Representative
- College or University degree
