The Physician Engagement Specialist is responsible for developing and nurturing prospective (non-clients) business opportunities with a focus on converting physician prospects into long-term clients. This role involves business development, strategic partnership management, and personalized client engagement. The incumbent proactively builds relationships with key stakeholders, enhances brand presence within the physician community and leverages data-driven insights to optimize outreach strategies.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Develop and nurture relationships with Scotiabank, P&A partners, physician recruiters, centers of influence (COI’s), medical clinics and key stakeholders to expand market reach and generate new client opportunities
- Manage and grow a robust pipeline of physician prospects through targeted outreach, educational initiatives and personalized engagement strategies
- Proactive opportunity management (analysis, prioritization and follow up)
- Represent the organization at conferences, sponsorships, seminars and networking events to promote the value proposition and foster brand awareness
- Sales Practices standards (lead qualification, lead follow up and conversion)
- Identify and develop new opportunities to promote MD and Scotia products and services
- Proactively engage physician prospects through discussions to understand their financial needs and align them with tailored solutions
- Deliver high-impact presentations to physician groups, business partners and internal stakeholders showcasing specialized offerings
- Utilize data insights to assess prospect engagement levels and optimize outreach efforts
- Strengthen collaboration with financial consultants and regional managers to convert physician prospects into long-term clients
- Proactively manage and expand a defined territory identifying key opportunities for business development
- Foster and coordinate connections between prospects and advisors to ensure an exceptional client experience
- Build a strong presence within the physician communities through regular engagement, social media activity and networking with advisors
- Maintain a deep understanding of market conditions and competitive advantages to drive strategic initiative
- Act as a key resource for internal teams providing coaching and insights on best practices for physician engagement
- Educate and support partners and stakeholders through training sessions, presentations and strategic discussions
- Champion innovation by continuously refining engagement strategies, leveraging technology, and identifying new business development opportunities
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:
- Post-secondary education and business marketing or related field
- Bilingual English and French
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in business development sales or client engagement
- Experience in the wealth management or financial services industry is an asset
- Proven experience in marketing, negotiation, and public speaking
- Working knowledge of RRSP’s, RRIF’s and RESP’s, mutual funds and other investment products is preferred
Additional Information:
Regular travel required (40-50%) to engage with physician prospects, attend events and build relationships within the community
In addition to French, the successful candidate must also have sufficient knowledge of English, as the work involves interacting and collaborating regularly with groups and individuals based in Toronto, as well as constantly interacting with other people, including clients, who speak English, locally and elsewhere.
