MD Management Limited, a division of Scotia Wealth Management, has an exciting opportunity for a talented, enthusiastic, and client-focused Early Career Education Specialist to join our team.

 

As an Early Career Education Specialist you will contribute to the overall success of the Early Career Education Specialist Team in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives.  Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

 

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

 

  • Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Act as first face-to-face point of contact MD Financial Management (MDFM) and effectively promote and communicate the MD value proposition, through a solid understanding of the physician journey, MD’s core products and services 
  • Generate quality leads for MD Financial Management for new clients and directly link prospects with Early Career Advisors
  • Develop a prominent, consistent, recognized and positive presence on campus and in teaching hospitals and in the New in Practice community.
  • Foster strong relationships and alliances with key stakeholder groups (i.e., residency program directors, Provincial Territorial Medical Associations (PTMA), affiliates, Scotiabank,)
  • Look for opportunities to wow prospects and clients; proactively recognize career and personal transition points and milestones
  • Deliver financial literacy educational sessions
  • Organize the facilitation of MDFM presence via resident orientations, academic half-days and special events
  • Leverage new media and social networking tools to actively engage with prospects and clients and create stakeholder communities
  • Collect feedback and insights from residents and new in practice physicians to inform future strategies and programs
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Education & Experience:

 

  • University degree or equivalent experience (Commerce, Marketing, Communications)
  • Solid partnership relationship management experience and negotiation
  • 3-5 years experience in marketing / business development with experience in the financial services or healthcare industries 
  • Strong financial planning knowledge
  • In-depth knowledge of the medical student and resident experience and ability to develop links in this regard
