Senior Buisness Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY:

The incumbent is responsible for the resolution of complex, multi-dimensional capital markets business problems for the internal and external clients of the Global Wholesale Services group. This includes performing analysis and executing User Acceptance Testing on small to medium sized bank projects and providing ongoing production support to our global clients. The position primarily supports the Money Transfers and Global Transaction Banking businesses, but may also include other business lines and common function groups within GWS.

Key accountabilities for this role:

  •  Assist the Manager/Project Manager or PMG Management with project tasks as assigned and with the development of value added solutions to business problems
  •  Assist with BRP (business resumption planning) tasks as may be assigned 
  • Perform research, analysis and investigation as may be necessary to accurately and clearly define user and business requirements 
  • Participate in the systems implementation process by developing test cases, performing testing, defining user procedures and workflows, assisting in the development of conversion and implementation strategies, and providing user documentation, user training, and post-implementation support.
  •  Provide business support to all global trading units, including new and existing product and deal structuring, ad hoc queries and MIS, user training, and assisting with the design and implementation of systems enhancements. 
  • Assist customers with the resolution of production issues, that may include systems, process or other matters.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Be an excellent communicator with superior technical writing and presentation skills.
  • Have a working knowledge of Money Transfer applications & networks such as BESS and SWIFT, and an understanding of Settlement Systems such as LVTS, CHIPs or FEDWire.
  • Understand capital markets back office processing, controls, market conventions, accounting & settlement processes and end-to-end
  • Be familiar with back, front and middle office activities
  • Be a creative, self starting, results oriented and highly motivated individual with excellent analytical skills
  • Have a good understanding of current IT practices, systems development techniques and be familiar with the application of technology for the solution of business problems/issues.
  • Possess an understanding of internal control principles, banking operations/processes and regulation
  • Good understanding through training and experience of project management principles and the software development life cycle
  • Previous experience in writing business requirements, system specifications, project plans, schedules, test, conversion and implementation plans
  • Have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Professional Suite, Microsoft Project, Visio/or other flowchart software.
  • The ability to write MS Access and/or SQL scripts will be an asset.


EDUCATION AND ACCREDITATIONS:

  • A recognized undergraduate degree in engineering, math, business, technology and/or related work experience.

OTHER INFORMATION:

  • Thie incumbent may be required to work some Canadian statutory holidays in support of US Operations.
