Senior Delivery Manager Contract Management

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Contract Management Sr. Delivery Manager (SDM) is assigned by the Director, IT Supplier Relationship Management, IT&S and is accountable for driving and leading the activities required to negotiate and manage the performance and effectiveness of all significant sourced contractual relationships for IT products and services. The SDM will be able to manage contract execution processes (new & renewal), including interfacing with the Business teams and the vendors in negotiating and executing key IT contracts ranging from a few million dollars to in excess of $50MM.

The SDM will need to build and maintain a strong working relationship with Finance, Legal and various Business Units for validation of proposals and to ensure contract obligations are met in these areas. Interactions will occur with all levels of management up to SVP levels, numerous stakeholders and various organizations within IT&S. As such, the SDM must be able to demonstrate solid skills in relationship building and general management. The incumbent must be a customer-oriented individual with a track record of initiative, learning and applying new skills quickly and communicating effectively with a variety of IT stakeholders to achieve desired results.

The SDM will have knowledge in global sourcing Supplier management and minimum of 10 years experience in IT Software, Hardware and Telecommunications infrastructure and in the financial services industry. The position requires knowledge of emerging technologies, excellent project management skills, and a strong understanding of technical infrastructure architectures. The SDM will have a demonstrated in-depth knowledge of IT Sourcing Processes along with the ability to indentify and communicate operation risk concerns across the IT organization. In addition the SDM will have excellent skills in client/vendor relationships, general business and contract management.

Key accountabilities for this role:

1. Develop strategic partnerships and agreements with providers of IT services that provide value to Scotiabank.

  • Manage the Supplier or partner sourcing activities from the Supplier selection process; master contract negotiation; Supplier service level management; contractual compliance and Supplier termination or renewal. These may be global/enterprise or country-based agreements
  • Ensure business process interactions between the Bank and the service providers are effective and efficient.

2. Manage service level attainment for products & services from strategic IT partners.

  • Ensure consistent delivery of highly available and high quality computing services for Scotiabank through the creation, monitoring and enforcement of Service Level Agreements and contractual performance objectives.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance of the sourcing arrangements to Bank regulatory policies, reporting their status to all stakeholders.
  • Ensure Scotiabank receives the technology services contracted for in a timely, cost effective, quality manner.

3. Centre of Excellence for IT sourcing - work with IT Business, CTO and Strategic Sourcing to identify additional opportunities to benefit from sourced IT Supplier relationships.

  • Manage sourcing model for optimum service delivery, quality and cost.
  • Work with the CTO team and/or Strategic Sourcing to identify potential opportunities to improve service to the Bank by leveraging IT sourcing relationships.

4. Maintain a general knowledge of business controls, marketplace pricing and sourcing strategies.

  • Positively influence IT&S/SOTS operations for proper considerations of business controls and standards
  • Provide consultation to Executives relative to Supplier proposals, prospective deals or existing contracts.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • The individual must process an excellent understanding of existing and emerging technologies, across the data centre network, distributed and branch services.
  • Excellent Interpersonal and relationship management skills. From time to time the incumbent is responsible for managing issues that generally have no precedent and pose financial risk to the Bank.
  • Managing and negotiating solutions and execution priorities objectively with full consideration and awareness of potential impact on other initiatives.
  • The incumbent will be required to periodically perform business out side of normal business hours, sometimes at short notice. The incumbent must be able to effectively communicate concepts and requirements to key stakeholders.
  • Understanding of principles of managing a sourced service or demonstrated experience in the management of large complex sourced contracts


EDUCATION AND ACCREDITATIONS:

  • University Degree in Computer Sciences or
  • At a minimum an Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science and / or Accounting, Finance or Contract Management or equivalent work experience with 5 years of management experience in at least 2 different operational disciplines.

OTHER INFORMATION:

  • Spanish fluency is a plus
