The Retail Branch sales and service team helps individual customers and small businesses become financially better off, by providing advice, information and service to help them achieve their personal and business goals.

Individuals in this career field perform a variety of sales and services jobs including: achieving negotiated personal sales and sales activity goals through the identification and satisfaction of customer needs; providing excellent customer service by offering a full range of customized financial solutions; building and maintaining a portfolio of customers; promoting and maximizing the development and growth of residential mortgage business; promoting and selling lending and deposit products and services while applying sound risk analysis techniques and credit adjudication judgment.

Individuals working in this area hold a University diploma / degree and depending on the role are required to have successfully completed a qualifying course of study to obtain a licence to sell mutual funds such as the Canadian Investment Funds Course (CIFC), the Investment Funds in Canada Course (IFC), the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and achieve a financial planning proficiency standard such as the Personal Financial Planner (PFP) and/or a designation as an Accredited Mortgage Professional (AMP).
